After 33 Years, Ravi Kishan Wins Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in ‘Lapatta Ladies’

At the 2025 Filmfare Awards held in Gujarat, he won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in the film ‘Lapatta Ladies’. This was a very special moment for him, as he received his first Filmfare Award after 33 years in the film industry. A Fun Story About the Role

On this occasion, Ravi Kishan also shared an interesting anecdote. He revealed that even Aamir Khan auditioned for this film and wanted to play the role himself. Aamir Khan had even had a uniform stitched for the part, but fate gave this role to Ravi Kishan. Ravi Kishan further said, “I have been in this film industry for 34 years, acted in over 750 films, worked in multiple languages, but I had never received a Filmfare Award until now. I had never even gone on stage before. People would say, ‘Let’s go together,’ but I used to say, ‘I will go only when my name is called.’ And that day has finally come.” Becoming emotional, he added, “In life, the sun rises only once… my 33-year wait is fulfilled today.”

During the ceremony, he also praised the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, saying that the energy with which Shah Rukh worked even with a 104-degree fever is the same energy that brought him to this stage today.
